“Lord, when is it my time?” I remember becoming so impatient at how slowly things seemed to be happening in my life. I loved seeing engagement photos and gender reveal parties, but to be honest, I continued to wonder when it would be my time. Have you ever felt that way? I was impatient and couldn’t help but think that my biological clock was running out of time. I even thought I needed to help God by doing something about it, while at the same time forgetting His very promises. I entered a relationship and only four months later, we called it off. I’d gotten to the point where I had to put my feelings aside and trust in the God who is omniscient and sovereign in all His ways.

You see, being impatient can lead to making unwise decisions. That’s why our hearts need to be settled on pleasing God and trusting Him no matter what. God reminds us that time is in His hands and we need not worry or stress about what’s not happening when we think it should be happening. I’d become so consumed by my own understanding of time that I forgot the fact that He holds it.

God knows the plans that He has for us. His plans are designed to prosper us and not harm us and they give us hope and a future. But sometimes we forget and we pursue our own will and way and we get off track. Wait I say! Whatever you’re believing God for, wait with expectancy. Trust His timing and know that “He has made everything beautiful in its time” (Ecclesiastes 3:11a, NIV). And that time is not determined by us but by Him.

So don’t worry about your biological clock! Know that all things are working together for your good. All you need to do is “take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him and He will do this” (Psalm 37:4-5, NIV).
