O my, what a beautiful mess!
This season of my life has ushered in so much stress.
Is it just me or am I the only one who has been under duress?
All I can do is pray “Lord, help me maneuver through what I see as a beautiful mess.”

I was talking with a close friend and I posed the question, “How would you describe this season of your life?” (or something to that nature.) The question was reverted back to me and I responded by saying, “A Beautiful Mess!” Interesting, huh? Let’s dive right on in to the post!
Do you believe that God can take what appears ugly and make something beautiful out of it? I’ve had to really be transparent about what I believe and I realized I struggled just a little in that area! I had days when I didn’t fully believe that God was fighting for me and working behind the scenes on my behalf. Why? I was walking by sight and not by faith! It was so much going on in my life and some days I was focused on what was happening in my life instead of focusing on who God is! I tried to appear as if I was standing so strong and that I was so grounded and rooted in God and His Word, but I knew deep down inside I had moments of weakness.
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
—2 Corinthians 12:9a
There were days when the fight appeared easy and I managed to get through the day with much prayer. Then there were days when it seemed as if everything was falling apart. And during those days I really wanted to call it quits because of the stress.
From personal things happening within my family, to me making life changing decisions, it all took a toll on me physically, mentally and even spiritually. I was trying to press through it all and cope in my own strength. Even so, I almost gave in to the lies of the enemy that I needed to get high. [If you don’t know, I use to turn to pain pills as my way of coping with stress.] The enemy was trying to make his way back in. It was such a battle because it can be easy to turn to those things that provide temporary relief and comfort. But after you get that temporary relief, what do you do? Do you go back to that thing you’re using as a coping mechanism or do you go to the One who has the solution to the problem that’s before you that you don’t want to face?
Trials not only test our faith, but our patience also. It’s during those times that we should consider it pure joy to experience such trials because we’ve been given everything we need to overcome and come out victorious. We should realize that the testing produces endurance. Not only that, it should get us hyped that we fight from a place of victory and that “greater is He that’s within us!” I think it’s in our nature to fight because we are spiritual beings and we’re set apart. So in this game of tug of war, we have to make sure we’re not getting pulled into the things and ways of the world.
Take a moment and just reflect on this current season of your life? How would you describe it using no more than five words? Is this season a beautiful mess? Whatever season you’re in and however you describe it, continue to stay in prayer and at the feet of God to help you through it. Rely on Him and draw your strength from Him! He knows the purpose behind you going through what you’re going through. Just continue to seek Him!
Until next time, know that you’re loved and you’re valuable to God! Stay in His presence! ❤️
