This morning I was scheduled for a procedure! I can’t wait to share the news so keep on reading…😊

Back story: I had flares back to back in 2017. I was admitted into the hospital 3 times and each visit was a 3 day stay. During my stay in September of 2017, I had a colonoscopy and ulcers and abscesses were discovered in my colon. After that colonoscopy, I followed up with the gastroenterologist who performed my colonoscopy. I remember him asking me if I was aware that I’d have to live with “this” for the rest of my life. In my mind I rebuked him. 🙅🏽‍♀️ He told me about new biologic drugs that would help and he also told me about Remicade and suggested that I start the treatments soon since I was having so many flares. Thing is, I would have to go to the infusion center for the treatments. I had so much inflammation that I had to start prednisone immediately and I had to take pain medicine to alleviate the pain. Fast forward…

In 2018 I switched to a different GI clinic. I found a gastroenterologist and during my first visit with her, she reviewed my medical records and was amazed at her findings. 😩 She said my case was a little too advanced for her and she wanted to refer me to someone who was more experienced. Thank God she did! Lol!

Soooooo today I had a colonoscopy! After it was over, I sat in the hallway waiting for the doctor to talk to me about his findings. As I looked over the paperwork, I noticed some photos on the second page. I honestly thought they were pictures taken from the internet. I thought my doctor wanted me to see how my colon is suppose to look. 🤔 He walked up with a surprised look on his face. He was amazed! He told me that the surgeons who did my surgeries in Mississippi over 7 years ago did a great job! He said they did a great job connecting everything. (Keep this in mind, I had a bowel resection in 2009 and in 2012 and I had my colostomy reversed in 2013.) And if I may add, in 2017, there was an accumulation of fluid and abscesses around the areas of connection that was a concern to the doctors. They put me on several antibiotics as a result. But today, my doctor said something totally contrary to what was evident two years ago. 🙌🏾 He went on to say that in all of his years of practicing, he’d never seen anything of the sort. In so many words he said, for someone who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, there should be “evidence” but guess what y’all!!!! I have a NORMAL colon and a NORMAL ileum. There are NO ulcers! What he was expecting to find wasn’t there!! What he normally sees in others who have been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, he didn’t find in me! And guess what? The pictures on the second page were actually pictures taken of my colon during the colonoscopy! Y’all! I’ve seen pictures of my colon from previous colonoscopies and I could see the ulcers and the redness from the inflammation in my colon. I could see why he was shocked because I definitely was! He went on to say that he doesn’t think I need to be on any medicine. Mind you, I just started the Humira injections a month ago that were previously prescribed by him and now he’s saying I don’t need them! Y’all! I’m still in awe!

Andddddd as you all know, I changed my diet as well! (Vegan) Although there have been days I fell off, my diet still consists mostly of plants. Faith without works is what? DEAD!

I’ve often felt like the woman with the issue of blood. I’d been battling for seventeen long years and to hear and see what I heard and saw today is nothing short of a MIRACLE! God is faithful!

There is an appointed time for your breakthrough. So don’t give up. Keep believing and standing on the word of God! He is able to perform!
