“But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew.” —Exodus 1:12a
You can do it! Keep pressing forward. No matter what odds are stacked against you, there is power, authority and strength that is available to you so that you can accomplish the will of God. Don’t back down in the face of opposition, intimidation or fear.
What I’ve learned is that the enemy is intimidated by our willingness to press on to do what God has called us to do. He knows that it’s likely that by us moving in obedience, captives will be set free, wounded hearts will be healed, blind eyes will be opened, the Gospel will be preached to all ends of the earth, etc. So he attempts to wear us out by devising strategies against us. He even tries to plant seeds of doubt in our minds so that we can back down and quit. It’s during those times that “we” have to be reminded of what God has spoken! Remember His promises!
Remember the children of Israel when they were in Egypt? They were chosen by God, His very special people. His promise was to deliver them and lead them to the land of promise. But one thing that stood out to me is that even though the enemy devised a plan against them, they still MULTIPLIED and were MIGHTY! Jesusssss!! 🙌🏾💃🏽💃🏽 God remembered the promise!
Don’t allow what the enemy has established against you to cause you to quit. Psalm 34:19 says that MANY are the afflictions of the righteous, BUT the LORD delivers him out of them ALL!
You have been placed on this earth for such a time as this! God is with you! Continue to press forward!
“And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance… In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”
—Genesis 15:13-14, 18-21 KJV
“And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”
—Genesis 50:24 KJV
“Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land. Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Rameses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour: And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.
Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.”
—Exodus 1:8-14, 20 KJV
