“But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?”

This morning I’m reminded of all that Jesus had to endure up to His death. The scripture I posted is pulled from the part of the story where Jesus and His disciples were in the garden and Judas came along with the Roman soldiers—the GREAT BETRAYAL! Obviously, Peter wasn’t having it since he responded by cutting off a man’s ear. But here’s what Jesus said, “Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? (Matt. 26:53) Jesus was basically saying, “this has to happen, whether you like it or not! If my Father wanted to save me, He would, but since this has to happen, I’m going to follow through with it.” Jesus was dedicated and committed to the will of God. He knew He had to die on the cross. He knew that was His purpose for coming to the earth—to die for all of mankind!

Be reminded of Jesus and what He had to endure! Sometimes we look for a way out when our only option is our way through what we desire to avoid! There is a purpose for it all! God allows ALL things to work for our good! With Jesus being betrayed and going to the cross, it opened the door for ALL to receive salvation. So look at what you’re going through with a different perspective. “I’m going through this so that God will be glorified! And since He’s allowing this to happen, it must be something good coming from it. This has to happen!”

There are just some things we’ll have to go through! Go through with a new set of eyes!
