“Then I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.”
—Jeremiah 18:3-4
Isn’t it amazing that God can take broken things and make them beautiful? As we run to the Potter waiting for Him to shape and mold us, we can be sure that once He’s done, we won’t be the same! He’ll make us new! So as you find yourself running to Jesus for whatever reason, just know that He loves you and He desires to heal you of your brokenness! He desires to restore you and make you new! Just run to Him!
Running to the Potter,
Arms wide open!
Save me! Fix me!
I’m so broken!
I am hurting!
I am weak!
I run to You
Carrying my badge of defeat!
You are my Father!
And I am the clay!
Attend Your ear to me,
And hear me this day!
I plead, “Make me over
For Your good pleasure.
I am Yours,
One of Your most prized possessions.”
I lay at Your wheel
Awaiting for You to work;
To relieve me of the pain
And to remove all of my dirt!
You heal my wounds,
You soothe the pain!
You take my hand and say
“Let’s try it again.”
I ran to You,
Arms wide open!
You are the Potter
Who healed what which was broken!
Mighty are the works of Yours hands!
I would have never believed it.
But a meeting with the Potter
Is just what I needed.
But now, O LORD,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand.
—Isaiah 64:8
